2026 PROGRAMME

Online Masterclass Series

Master the Art of AML & Financial Crime Compliance

What is the one step you can take today to unlock your career progression in 2026 — whilst feeling more confident and effective in your role?

Regulations shift. Typologies evolve. Criminals adapt. And yet, many financial crime professionals are still working from training that was designed for a different landscape — built around policies and checklists rather than the judgement, confidence, and practical insight that the role actually demands.

If you’ve ever sat through training that told you what the rules are — but not how to apply them when it matters — you’ll recognise there’s a better way. Knowing the regulation isn’t enough. Being able to act on it is.

That’s why GCAL’s 2026 Online Masterclass Series is different.

What are the GCAL Masterclasses?

Our 2026 Masterclass Series is a programme of three-hour, instructor-led online sessions designed specifically for MLROs, DMLROs, Financial Crime, Sanction, Fraud, and AML professionals who want to go beyond awareness — and develop the practical skills, frameworks, and confidence to lead.

Each masterclass is online, interactive, and built around the challenges you actually face. Not theory. Not slides. Real cases, real decisions, and real tools you can use the moment you step back into your role.

Designed For:

  • Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) and Deputy MLROs
  • Financial Crime and Fraud Professionals
  • Compliance Officers and Risk Managers
  • Nominated Officers
  • Senior Leaders with financial crime oversight responsibility

2026 Programme: What You’ll Master

Each session tackles a pressing compliance challenge head-on. Across the series, you will cover:

Operationalising Your AML Framework

Move beyond policies and procedures to build controls that work in practice — and can be evidenced to regulators.

Conducting Effective Financial Crime Risk Assessments

Build a defensible, dynamic risk assessment that drives real risk-based decisions — not a static document that gathers dust.

Fraud Risk Management

Sharpen your ability to detect, prevent and respond to fraud across products, channels and jurisdictions — keeping pace with an evolving threat landscape.

Sanctions Compliance

Build the knowledge and confidence to navigate complex sanctions obligations, identify exposure, and make defensible decisions under pressure.

Cyber-Enabled Financial Crime

Understand how criminals exploit digital channels and emerging technologies — and how to strengthen your firm’s defences against cyber-enabled threats.

Mastering CDD, OSINT and Financial Crime Controls

Sharpen your judgement on the decisions that matter most: when to escalate, how to document, and how to report with confidence.

How It Works

  • 3 Hours — Each masterclass is a focused, three-hour live session — structured to respect your time and maximise impact.
  • 📹 Interactive & Instructor-Led — Every session is guided by a practitioner with decades of real-world experience. Not a lecturer. Someone who has done the job.
  • 🎥 Online & On-Demand — Attend live for maximum interaction, or access the recording on demand to revisit key sections at your own pace.
  • 📊 Always Up to Date — Each masterclass is delivered entirely online, with recordings available on demand so you can revisit key sections at your own pace
  • 🏆 CPD Certificate of Completion — Each masterclass earns a CPD Certificate, supporting your continuing professional development and providing a clear record of achievement.

The GCAL Difference: Train Minds, Not the Process

At GCAL, our strategic aim is to engage, inform, and inspire. “We train minds, not the process” isn’t a strapline. It’s a design principle.

We don’t just teach rules. We help you understand why policies exist and what they’re designed to protect. A team that grasps the AML and financial crime threat landscape — and the intent behind the controls — is far more likely to spot emerging risks, identify ineffective processes, and make the right call on the difficult deals.

What makes our Masterclasses different:

✔ Written by risk professionals who are doing the job — not academics
✔ Immersive case studies that challenge you to think like a criminal and understand how your firm’s products could be exploited
✔ Practical frameworks and tools you can operationalise immediately
✔ A fresh, credible alternative to traditional compliance learning programmes
✔ Curious, continuously updated content that keeps pace with the real world
