We have invited guest speakers from Barbados, Mexico and Poland (find out more about them here) to share with us their insights as to the risks that they are very familiar with, so that we can be better informed when assessing and managing these overseas, and sometimes indirect, financial crime risks.
Importantly, the criminal facilitation of tax evasion is now attracting the attention of the SFO acting under the Criminal Finances Act 2017, and the new strict liability corporate offence of failing to prevent the criminal facilitation of tax evasion by employees and associates of firms in the UK and overseas subsidiaries must be managed carefully.
Can you name your “reasonable procedures?” We expect that our speakers will provide helpful advice and insights on how to identify high risk activity.
This will be an intimate affair with a limited number of seats available, and we now have limited tickets available if you can join us. If you can’t make it, make sure you book in a colleague.
